Job purpose:
Responsible for all sales activities in assigned accounts in Southern Africa
Job parameters:
• Product: Online conversion of printed material (magazines/ brochures etc)
• Target sectors: Magazines, schools, brochures, corporate customers
• Territory: Southern Africa

Key responsibilities and accountabilities:
• Present and sell company products and services to current and potential clients
• Identify specific targets and project the number of contacts to be made
• Follow up on new leads and referrals
• Prepare presentations, proposals and sales contracts
• Plan and prioritise personal sales activities and customer/prospect contact towards achieving agreed business aims, including costs and sales - especially managing personal time and productivity
• Develop and maintain sales materials and current product knowledge
• Establish and maintain current client and potential client relationships
• Prepare a variety of status reports, including activity, closings, follow-up, and adherence to goals
• Develop ideas and participate in direct marketing via trade fairs and or other promotional activities
• Attend training and to develop relevant knowledge, techniques and skills
• Monitor and report on market and competitor activities
• Other duties as required
Specialised or technical knowledge and skills:
• Tertiary degree-level qualification an advantage but not necessary
• Background, knowledge and interest of technology essential (computers, cell phones, I phones, internet, web, facebook and electronic readers)
• Must be adept in use of MS Office, particularly Excel and Word, Internet and email

Business and sales skills:
• Minimum 4 years of overall business experience, with at least 2 years in a sales position
• Must be an excellent face-to-face and telephone communicator
• Able to demonstrate success and experience managing major accounts customers and large contracts or even a business, particularly achieving genuine sales development
• Ideal background would be in sales experience working with large retail clients (Caxton/ Mass Mart/ Makro/ MTN / Vodacom/ PnP/ Shoprite etc)
• Print sales background an/or prior experience in the printing industry (Paarl Media/CTP etc) beneficial
• Able to communicate and motivate via written media. Very competent writer of business letters, quotations and proposals
• Understands the principles of marketing and advertising cost-effectiveness, including market sector targeting, product offer development, features-benefits-solutions selling, cost per response, cost per conversion, etc.

• Excellent communication and negotiation skills
• Mature, credible, and comfortable in dealing with senior big company executives
• Self-driven, results-oriented, motivated, self starter who can manage their time well
• High work ethic, motivated, determined, keen for new experience and accountability
• A natural forward planner who critically assesses own performance and has the ability to understand the big picture
• Well presented and businesslike with a positive outlook
• Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to get on with others and be a team-player
Personal Situation:
• Must be mature and domestically secure
• Sufficiently mobile and flexible to travel up to a few days when required
• Able to work extended hours on occasions when required
• Able to commute reliably to office base. Must have a valid driving licence
• May be striving financially but not desperate or in serious debt
