| Developer: Lead Satellite Developer Overview Provide business departments with their own “satellite” developers in order to give departments the ability to develop new systems and adjust existing ones according to their own commercial priorities, while also ensuring that developers are immersed in and appreciative of the commercial needs of the business. As the number of satellite developers has grown, the need has arisen to ensure that they are properly catered for within our overall development structures. We therefore seek to employ a Lead Developer who will have overall responsibility for the career development and output of our various satellite developers, and also for ensuring that feedback from satellite developers is taken into consideration in the continuous improvement of the methodologies employed within our “core” development area. Duties and Responsibilities • Ensure that the satellite development needs of the business are met through the placement and management of appropriate resources across the business • Create and manage career development, training and performance management plans for satellite developers • Ensure that satellite developers work according to company development standards and in furtherance of overall development methodologies and architectural objectives, and that feedback from satellite developers is incorporated into the optimization thereof • Hands-on involvement with work done by satellite developers, including coding assistance, code review and QA as and when required Personal Competencies • Relevant university degree or similar, preferably post graduate • Strong skills in a wide variety of technologies, including 5-10+ years’ high level experience with systems architecture, OO, databases, .NET 2.0 / 3.5, C#, XML and related technologies, SQL in all major forms (experience with major open source platforms is a plus but not a requirement) • 3+ years’ experience managing software developers and the delivery of large software projects • Systematic, precise, logical, accurate, thorough, able to work under stress • Assertive, confident, excellent communication and interpersonal skills. • Strong planning, organisational and leadership skills To apply, please submit your CV with skills matrix | |
